Charlie Lee Mullins, 79 of Seth, WV, passed away on March 3, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucille Bowe, Dayton Mullins, Sr, adopted mother Fannie Mullins, brother Dayton Mullins, Jr, and best friend and companion, Violet Santonia. He was a retired coal miner, active member and Vice President of the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) Local 6426; a United States Army veteran who remained committed to service through his work as a lifetime member and Quartermaster of the American Legion Post 75 in Whitesville; and a graduate of Sherman High School.

Charlie was a constant and devoted presence in Violet’s life, faithfully by her side each day during the final 19 weeks of her illness as she fought from her hospital bed. In the years that followed and until his death, he remained a steadfast source of love and support for her children, showing up for every family gathering and milestone - from wedding and birthday celebrations to sporting events, piano recitals, and graduations, and especially for the celebration of “Charlie’s Day”, a holiday the family created to honor the joy that his presence brought into their lives.

Papaw Charlie took great joy in cheering on his grandchildren and delighting them with thoughtful holiday traditions. His many trips to Lewisburg for cinnamon rolls brought not only dozens of sweet treats but countless smiles and lasting memories of his kindness and love.

He is survived by his son, Chester “CJ” Santonia of Seth, and daughters, Margaret Pratt and husband Anthony of Racine, Toni Rogers and husband Jason of Scott Depot, Ethel Austin and husband David of Seth, and Lena Lambert and husband Jason of Nitro; grandchildren Jordan Lambert and wife Sidney, Josh Lambert and wife Scarlett, Joseph Lambert, Piper Austin, Nathaniel Pratt, Abigail Pratt, Keira Austin, Aeryn Austin, and Emily Pratt, great-grandchildren Raleigh and Ila Lambert, and best friends, Harrison Jackson, Jim Hodges, David Perdue, and Susie Coleman.

Funeral service will be at 11 am on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Hopkins Fork Community Church, 1285 Prenter Road, Seth, WV, with Rev. Robert “Junior” Perdue and Rev. Anthony Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery, Orgas. The visitation will be on Monday, from 6 pm to 8 pm at the church, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
