Charles “Jack” Bennett, 89, passed away to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. 

Jack was of Baptist faith. He served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Jack was an avid reader and attained a master’s degree in social work and worked with children. He spent the majority of his working career in Polk County, Florida. Born February 5, 1935, in Horning, Pennsylvania.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Chris (Estep); his son, Greg Bennett; parents, Earl and Helen Bennett; brothers, Earl Jr (Betty) Bennett and Robert (Lucille) Bennett. 

Jack is survived by his daughter, Donna Bennett; grandson, JD Bennett; brother, Richard (Ginny) Bennett. Jack was an uncle to eighteen nephews and nieces and their spouses. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Handley Funeral Home at Danville, WV. Visitation will be starting at 10:00am on Saturday with a graveside service following at Noon on Saturday with Military Graveside Rites provided by Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578 Madison, West Virginia at Memory Gardens, Low Gap Road, Madison.
