Carol Jean Hurt

Carol Jean Hurt, 73, of River, Kentucky passed away on January 21, 2023 following a long illness.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother Floyd and Gracie Hurt; her beloved sister Mary Henderson; special sister Yvonne McGlothlin; special brother Ricky Estep; and a host of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is survived by her biological sisters Dolly Austin of Richlands, VA and Ola Gay White of Clarksville, TN.  Other survivors include her special sisters Reta (Jimmy) Musick of River, KY, Nioakha (Eric) Walley of Trinity, NC, Drema (Mark) Stiltner of Mouthcard, KY, and Karen (Mike) Rollins of Madison, WV; and one special brother Ronnie Hurt of Thomasville, NC.

Carol was so loved by all that knew her.  She loved to color more than anything, but also loved listening to music and spending time with her family.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25 at Boone Memorial Park, Madison, WV with Pastor Billy Phillips officiating. 

Handley Funeral Home in Danville is assisting the family.
