Bruce E. Nelson, Jr. of Madison, WV passed away on April 7, 2013 at the age of 44.
He was born August 29, 1968 in Cleveland, Ohio to his mother, Barbara and the late Bruce E. Nelson Sr. In addition to his father he was also preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Herschel Nelson; maternal grandparents, Millard and Ellie Smith; uncle, Ronnie Smith; and aunt, Carol Smith.
Bruce was a U.S. Navy veteran with honors. He was a Christian and a member of Lory Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Pollard and stepfather, Bill Pollard; one brother, Bart Nelson; paternal grandmother, Alice Nelson; two nieces, Miranda and Ashley Nelson; ex-sister-in-law, Kathy Nelson; several aunts and uncles; and many cousins and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 12 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rev. Phil Rowe officiating. Burial will follow in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey with full military rites.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
