Brenda J. Hughes "nee Ball" of Hewett, WV formerly of Chatham, Ohio passed away February 3, 2013 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV.
Brenda was born September 17, 1940 to the late Roy C. and Josie Ball of Hewett. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest, Remol and Elmer Ball; brothers-in-law, John Vlad and Louie Estep; and sister-in-law, Elsie Ball.
Brenda was the beloved wife of Paul; loving mother of Rhonda (David) Schultz and Kevin (Debbie) Hughes; and devoted “Grammy” to Matthew and Jessica Hughes and Cory Schultz. Brenda is also survived by dear brother, Arnett Ball; dear sisters, Patricia Vlad, Rhoda Estep, and Sonja (James) DeHart; sisters-in-law Florence, Thelma and Katie Ball; and many nieces and nephews.
Brenda will be remembered for her kindness, caring and always worrying about everyone else. She devoted her life to caring for her family and was caregiver to both her parents before their deaths. Brenda spent most of her adult years living in Ohio before moving back to Hewett in 2007. She was employed by General Electric, MTD and Gowe Printing.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 9 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV. Interment immediately following service at Family Gardens, Madison.
Friends may call from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kanawha Hospice.
