Betty Lou Smith Triplett, 81, entered her heavenly home on December 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 18, 1944, she was the daughter of Oma Parsons Smith and James Smith and a lifelong resident of Branchland, West Virginia. Betty built her life upon faith, family, and an unwavering devotion to the Lord.
For 55 years, Betty shared a blessed marriage with her late husband, Elder Paul Triplett. Together, they created a home filled with love, service, and a steadfast commitment to Christ. Their legacy continues to shine brightly through the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who carry their values forward.

 Betty was the cherished mother of five children: Paula Triplett-Donahue (Jimmy Sanders),Barbara (Scott) Simpkins, Janel (Emmett) Kiritsy, Steve (Vicki) Triplett, and Sarah Triplett (Rashawn Beatty). She was lovingly known as“Mawma” to her grandchildren: Arron Paul Donahue, Shelby NyCole Donahue, Cory Adam Donahue, Tyler Simpkins, Abigail Kiritsy, Nikolas Kiritsy, Christopher Paul (Gabby) Johaim, Jacinda Leynnae Johaim, Kyle Alexander Johaim, Lucas Amari Johaim, Aunesty Brielle McColgan, Emira Nevaeh Beatty, Azaleah Elizabeth Beatty, and Amina Lou Beatty. Betty also leaves behind 15 precious great-grandchildren, each one a joy to her heart.

 Betty’s church family was near and dear to her heart. She faithfully served her church community and found great comfort, fellowship, and strength among her brothers and sisters in Christ. Betty’s life was defined by her gentle spirit, generous heart, and steadfast commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ. She offered encouragement, prayer, and kindness to all who were blessed to know her.

Funeral services will be held at Liberty United Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Jamie Clay and Eddie Parsons will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Dial cemetery Branchland. McGhee-Handley Funeral Home West Hamlin is assisting the family.
