Barbara Ann Cooper

Barbara Ann Cooper, 77 of Ranger, WV departed this life on April 21st, 2024, at home in Ranger, WV surrounded by family.

She was born July 4th, 1946, in Ranger WV the daughter of the late Ben McCoy and Norma Cochran McCoy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Cooper, two brothers, Ocie McCoy and Mack McCoy and two sisters, Estell Adkins Lett and Colleen Hiat.

Barb, as she was loving called, enjoyed riding in the hills, sitting on the porch and her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include four sons, Eddie (Alana) Cooper, Todd (Liz) Cooper, and Kevin Cooper of Ranger, WV and Tedd (Sandi) Cooper of West Hamlin, WV; two daughters, Christy (Scott) Williams of West Hamlin, WV and Tammy Workman of Ranger, WV. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and many others who lovingly called her Mawcy. Barb was a natural caregiver who always put others first, and her kindness and compassion were felt by everyone she met. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, whether it was riding in the hills or sitting on the porch. Barb's kindness, warmth, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Services will be held Friday, April 26th at 2:00pm at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV with Ernest Vance officiating. Burial will follow at Pea Ridge Cemetery, Spurlockville, WV.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 25th, 2024, from 6-8pm at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV.

Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons.
