Arthur William Gallagher Sr.

Arthur William Gallagher Sr., 78, of Hewett, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. Born June 29, 1947, in Hartford CT, he was the son of the late Joseph Gallagher and Dorothy, and stepson of Peter Lorenzo Pagano. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Margaret Gallagher; daughter, Valerie Gallagher-Ball; and siblings Shirley Saladino and Joe Gallagher.

Arthur is survived by his son, Arthur Gallagher Jr. (Mashell); grandchildren Katelyn Gallagher, Amber Gallagher, Felicia Starcher, Chasity Deal (Ben), and Cassidy Gallagher; great-grandchildren Carter, Ensley, and Cayson Deal, Saphera and Delilah Fink; and many loving nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his siblings Roseann Hill, Peter Pagano, Jimmy (Jeannie Durso) Pagano, Ernest Pagano, Richard Gallagher, Larry Pagano, and Mary Kelly.

A retired coal miner and proud member of the UMWA, Arthur also retired from The Foundry in Connecticut. He was a gifted carpenter who enjoyed woodworking, auctions, flea markets, birdwatching from the porch, and playing ball with his loyal dog, Copper.

Arthur was a lifelong member of Greenview Church of Christ. He will be remembered for his gentle soul, strong faith, and contagious laugh. Special thanks to his brothers and sisters in Christ and his special sister/caregiver Roseann Hill.

Per his wishes, there will be no services. His legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in all who knew him.
