Arlene Hayes, 89, of Julian WV went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Boone Memorial Hospital after a long battle with heart and lung disease.
She was born January 22, 1923 and was a daughter of the late J.M. (Byrd) and Ethel Chandler of Julian. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe B. Hayes; four brothers; and four sisters.
She attended Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church for 13 years. She was a good and faithful servant to her Lord for over 70 years.
She is survived by her two daughters, Judy Easter and her husband Jack of Foster, WV and Bonnie Sleeth and her husband Mike of Burton, WV; two grandsons, Jeff Easter and his wife Amanda and Jared Smith; two granddaughters, Becky Smith and Jennifer Esch and her husband Marc; three great-grandchildren, Shaila Smith, Lauren Easter and Logan Esch; special sister-in-law, Elva Chandler; numerous nieces and nephew; and friend and caregiver Missy Hager, BCCO.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2013 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with the Rev. Allen Skeens officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Danville.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
