In Loving Memory of Anna Jean Workman

Anna Jean Workman, 79, of Chapmanville, WV went to be with her Lord and Savior in the early morning of August 30th, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Logan, WV on October 13, 1946, Anna was the daughter of Okey and Clara Workman. She graduated from Chapmanville High School, where she met Eddie Workman (“Pops”), the love of her life, whom she lost last June.

Anna dedicated her life to her Lord and her family. To her and Pops, Church and family were everything. In church, she was a well-known singer and was oftentimes joined by Pops in the choir. They were a team, and they stood firm together. They owned their own business for years; he ran the coal mine and she ran everything else. She could make anything, sew anything, cook anything, and together with their green thumbs could grow anything; the most beautiful flowers, trees, and delicious veggies. Their animals wanted for nothing. They were spoiled more than the kids! While Pops loved his fishing trips, mom loved to travel with the church ladies and her girl beach trips. She enjoyed life to the fullest and we will never forget the mother, grandmother, and friend she was... until a car accident injury, then illness and the onset of dementia took over her body and mind.

She is survived by their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren: her daughter Vicky (Bryan) Wells, son Eddie (Arnietta) Workman, and chosen daughter Donna (Larry) Collins, grandson Brandon (Deborah) Workman, granddaughters Chey (Matt) Bogner, Jodee Mullins, Kayla (Jeremy) Horton, Karley (David) Mullins, great grandchildren Damien Bogner, Jadah Turner, and Ezra Workman, Brock Carter, Brody Carter and Charlee Horton.

It’s been very hard losing them both just a year apart. But we know mom and Pops are celebrating with Jesus and in new bodies with no more pain or confusion. I can just hear Pops trying to convince her to go fishing and her saying, "Absolutely not, you know I don’t like fishing, even in heaven..."

Per Mom’s request, there will be no service.
