Roger Dale Miller

Roger Dale Miller, 72, of Danville departed this life on Saturday, August 13th at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV. He was born August 27th 1949 in Madison, WV the son of the late Nell (Kirby) and Tossie Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Harless and brother Charles Ray Varney.
Roger retired after 36 years of coal mining for Hobet and Westmoreland Mines. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He was a wonderful father, papaw, and devoted husband.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 53 years, Ora Mae (Buckner) Miller, his sons Randle (Kay) of Danville, WV, Roger (Wendy) Miller of Uneeda, WV. Sisters: Joann (Denzil) of Six Mile, WV, Linda Halstead of Danville, WV, Donna Canterbury of Danville, WV. Brothers: Doug (Charlotte) Miller, Scottie Miller, Mark Miller and Harold Miller all of Danville, WV. Grandchildren: Chilo and Cody Miller of Uneeda, WV and Jonathan of Danville, WV. Special family friends: Sue and Lilly Ball. A host of nieces and nephews and many loved ones that were like family.
Services will be held at 5:00p.m. on Saturday, August 27th at Freedom Baptist Fellowship Church in Madison with Wayne McCray officiating.
