Roger Duane McMicken

Roger Duane McMicken 73 of Madison WV passed away peacefully on April 20,2022 surrounded by loved ones.

He was born on August 29, 1948 to the late Harry McMicken and Lucille (Smith) Thornton. He was also preceded in death by his brother Harry Carlyle McMicken and sisters Brenda Harless & June Sanders. He is survived by his sister Linda Painter and his brother Marion (Gail) McMickens.
Roger was a retired coal miner and computer technician. He was also a member and deacon of Freedom Baptist Fellowship.

He enjoyed hunting, camping, bird watching, and taking walks on the mountain.

Roger will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years Deborah (Lindsay) McMicken. Together they had five children: Bella (Greg) Napier of Ottawa, WV Lyle (Staci) McMicken of St. Albans, WV Sally (Nathan) Carman of Brandywine, MD Martin (Jaime) McMicken of Madison WV Lynnett(Roger) McMicken Fletcher of Madison WV; ten grandchildren: Tanis Walker, Garrett Napier, Landen Napier, Morgan (Tyler) Watts, Grace McMicken, Brittney (Alex) Ball, Katelyn Carman, Brooke Carman, Hunter McMicken, Isabel McMicken, nieces nephews and his lifelong best friend Roger Bias, who he considered his brother. Graveside service will be held 11 o’clock am, Saturday April 23rd at Price Hill, Madison WV. Pastor Lyle McMicken will be officiating.
