Richard Ivan "Ricky" Dent

Richard Ivan “Ricky” Dent, 56, of Madison, WV was born August 25, 1964 and died peacefully in his sleep on October 24, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents George and Betty Dent and his maternal grandparents Ivan and Mary White.
Ricky graduated from the WV Division of Corrections Academy in 2012. He loved genealogy, spending time with family and friends, especially Doris and her family. Ricky loved Elvis music and sharing that music with others.
He is survived by his parents, Joel Patrick “Pat” and Connie Lou White Dent of Madison; sister, Sonya (Mike) Dolan of Madison; brother, John Dent of Peytona; fiancé, Doris Adams; nieces, Sarah Dotson and Morgan Dolan; nephews, Cory Dolan and Jordan Dent; great nieces, Aaliyah and Mia Dotson; and great nephew, Archer Brasher.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville with the Rev. Tom Bias officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, CDC guidelines will be observed, with mask and social distancing encouraged.
