Michael Ray Bias

Michael Ray Bias of Wharton, WV took hands with his father in heaven Saturday February 15, 2014 in
Charleston WV at CAMC Hospital from a heart attack following a long battle with heart disease. Born in
Madison, West Virginia on May 26, 1967 and attended Van Jr. Sr. High.

Michael is preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Ray Bias and grandparents, Lawrence and Wavie
Bishop and Zernie Bias.

Michael is survived by spouse Melena Woodrum Bias (married on July 11,2006) and children: Justin
Shutley (27) of Dalton Georgia (blessing him with grandchildren (Draden and Aleigha), Derrick (23) and
wife Amber of Dublin, VA (blessing him with grandchildren: Dallas and Levi), Cody (21) of Dalton
Georgia, Jonathon (11) and Mashayla (7) of Wharton,WV, parents: Katherine and Dennis “Dog” Burns of
Gordon, siblings: Tony and wife Marlena (blessing him with nephew Aaron and nieces Kendra and
Monica of Wharton), Dennis (blessing him with nieces Ariana and Aleana), Charlotte and husband Daniel
Gunnoe (blessing him with niece Kasey) and sister Tirina Bias Dubulis of Akron, OH.

Michael was a man of compassion and kindness. He was one to always make you smile and to always
offer a hand to anyone in need. His laughter was contagious and followed him everywhere. He was not
only a kind and loving man to all that knew him but a cherished husband, brother, father, grandfather,
son and friend to many. He will truly be missed.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 17, 2014, at the Greenwood Church of God in Greenwood from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at 2:00 pm with the Reverend Scotty Elswick
officiating at the Greenwood Church of God with the burial following at the Jasper’s Branch Cemetery.
