Marjorie Augusta Abbott (98) of Van, WV departed this life Wednesday, November 14, 2018.
She was born February 5, 1920 to Joseph and Arminda McNeely.
Marjorie lived all of her adult life in Van and in her family home where everyone was welcome. Her joys in life included caring and cooking for her family, visiting friends and attending Freedie Baptist Church where she was a member.
Marjorie was married to Herman Jennings Abbott. They had six children, daughter, Cora Lee (Donald) Jarrell; sons, Gary (Marcella) Abbott, Laurence (Nedra) Abbott, Paul (Nancy) Abbott, and Jennings (Janet) Abbott; 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren, brother Remus Ray Coon.
Preceding her in death were her mother and father, husband Herman Jennings Abbott, son Harold Abbott, granddaughter Donna Baisden, great great grandson James Elijah Bowen; sisters, Irene Stevenson, and Charlot Murphy and brothers, Bill Coon, Jack Ferrell,and Cicero McNeely.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Rev. Steve Burns and Billy Dean Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison,WV.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
