Katherine M. Adkins, 98, of Hamlin, WV, after an extended illness, passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior on April 16, 2019.
Katherine was born on June 5, 1920 in Monroe County. Her parents; dearly beloved son Donald; husband Carson; great grandson Jason Quintrell; three brothers; and one sister preceded her in death.
Surviving are her three daughters, who stood by her faithfully till the end, Shelby (Sid) Quintrell of Hamlin; Pearl Estelle(Ken) Odom of Orrville, Ohio and Gloria Ann (Jerry) Linville of Sod, WV; one surviving brother James Lipscomb of Charlotte, NC. She also left behind 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; special caring friends: George Adkins, Gloria Lou Dingess, Lama King, Connie Maynard, and Mona Snodgrass.
She was well known for her talent as a seamstress: sewing draperies to wedding gowns. Truly a virtuous woman: her price is far above rubies. Proverbs 31:10 “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more. Neither shall there be mourning or crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Rev 21:4
At her request threr will be no funeral. Friends may call from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Friday, April 19, 2019 at Handley Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV. There will be a graveside service following the viewing at Heavens Gateway Cemetery, Teays Valley, WV with Robert Hatfield officiating.
