Johnny Ray Halstead

Johnny Ray Halstead 65 went home to be with the Lord June 22, 2020.
A lifetime resident of Madison, WV he loved his hometown, but he loved the people even more. He was always trying to find ways to help someone, mowing someone grass, rebuilding a motor, or just talking to someone, he was always there to help. He loved to let his light shine for the Lord. He would share God’s word every chance he got.
Being a truck driver, God gave him a lot of opportunities to share Gods love.
Preceded in death were his parents, Loxley and Brooke Halstead, Madison WV.
The other love of Johnny’s life was his family. His wife, Penny and Johnny were blessed by God in the 25 years they were together. His children were his delight, Brycen (Amber) Miller, Madison, Traci (De) Murray, Charlotte, NC, Bradley (Holly) Miller, Madison, and Brian Halstead, Charleston, WV, grandchildren were his joy, Zane Miller, David Stowers, MaKenzie Miller, Abigail Miller Joshua Miller, Isaiah Blethen, Daniel Miller, Kaylee Miller and Chance Halstead. Then Johnny was blessed with two great grandchildren Weston and Everleigh Miller, his sisters; Judy Balridge, Nashville, TN and brothers; Eddie Halstead, Uneeda, WV, Donald Halstead, Madison WV and Richard Halstead, Nashville, TN.
Johnny was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Danville, WV where he served the Lord in different ministries.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2020 with Pastor Johnny Barker and Pastor Dan Gates officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Danville, WV.
