Jackie Wilson Rister

January 9, 1933 — September 28, 2020

On Monday, September 28, 2020 Jack Rister 88 passed away at his home after a long illness.
Jack was born January 9, 1933 in Kentucky. He is a veteran of the Korean War, a member of the UMWA, owner of a construction company and a volunteer at East Lynn campground for 19 years.
Jack was a great man that loved his family and friends. He enjoyed camping, fishing and sitting in his chair watching MASH.
He was preceded in death by his father Frank Rister and mother Moddie Rister, sons; Bobby and Randy Rister, brothers; Edgar, Frank, Eugene and Clarence Rister, and sisters; Willodene Hudson and Shelby Thurman.
He is survived by the love of his life Ardith Rister, children; Sandra Sands of Danville and Danny (Suzie) Rister of Fayetteville, NC, grandchildren; Robert (Katie) Sands, Jr of Julian, Loretta Sands Atkins of Julian, Christy (Jerry) Eldridge of Danville, Danny (Mary)Rister, Jr. and Jason Rister both of Fayetteville, NC and Angelina Rister of Bluefield, WV along with a host of friends, nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2020 Handley Funeral Home, Danville.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Military rites will be by Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578, Madison, WV.
