Eric Loeffert Vogel, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, of West Hamlin went home to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 61 on January 15, 2018 after a brief illness.

He was born on April 4, 1956 to his father John and late mother Marylin Vogel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was a member of West Hamlin United Methodist Church and loved music and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Sandra Black Vogel; son Adam Vogel and partner Angie McFoy; daughter Erica Vogel Clark and son-in-law Jonathan Clark; three grandchildren: Breanna Vogel, Isaiah Vogel, and Randy Browning; his favorite aunt, Barb Vogel; brother Glen Vogel and sister-in-law Sandy Vogel, residents of Florida; brother-in-law Glenn Black of Teays Valley; sister-in-law Debbie (and Jerry) Browning of Salt Rock; brother-in-law Jeffrey (and Ladonna) Black of West Hamlin; many treasured nieces and nephews, and a host of other beloved family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

The viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. at Handley Funeral Home in Hamlin on Friday, January 19. He will be laid to rest in Johnson's Cemetery on Upper Mud River where graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, with his brother-in-law, Pastor Jeffrey Black, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to breast cancer research of your choice are greatly appreciated, as his cherished mother was taken too soon by the disease.
