Donna Marie Massey Hicks-Workman, 70, of Gordon passed away November 15, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Troy Eugene Hicks, and husband Gary Workman; daughter, Nola Devon Niday; brothers, Carl Massey, Roy Jr. Massey, and her twin David Massey.
She was a homemaker, cake decorator, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of Bim Freewill Baptist Church and was a friend to all that knew her. She was compassionate, kind, nurturing, and patriotic. Mom was one in a million and meant the world to us. She was our best friend and she will be forever missed. Our family lost the most important thing to us. She was the best mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Kay Hicks (Donald Beaumont) of Pittsburgh, PA, and Angela Dawn Jones (Scott Jones - deceased) of Max Meadows, VA; grandchildren, Justin Niday of Comfort, WV Bret Hicks of Pittsburgh, PA, Lauran, Kearsten, and Danielle of Max Meadows, VA; great-grandchildren, Avalynn, Sadie, Cassidy, Hunter, Briley, and Blake; brothers, Jimmy Massey of Cottageville, WV, Russell Massey of Brooksville, Fla., and Danny Massey of St. Albans, WV; sisters, Letha Carr of Uneeda, WV, Janet LaLonde of Gordon, WV, Linda Elswick of Uneeda, WV, Kathy Jones of Penbrook, VA, and Patricia Nelson of Madison, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 20 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Pastor Scotty Elswick officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
