Delores Jean Dolin

June 9, 1931 — February 23, 2019

Delores J. Kessinger Dolin, 87, of Danville formerly of Camp Creek went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at her home in Danville after a short illness.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Ira Dolin Jr; her parents, James and Naomi Kessinger; sisters, Ruth Wright and Thelma Barnette; brothers, Charles Kessinger and Robert Kessinger; daughter, Laura Dolin; son, John Dolin; and grandson, Timothy Dolin.

Delores was a wonderful loving Christian lady, wife and mother; working in churches as youth counselor for many years. She was a member of Holy Ground Community Baptist Church in Forest City , NC as well as Freedom Community Church in Alkol, WV. Her children “rise up and called her blessed”. She won West Virginia mother of the year award once.

She is survived by five sons, Dennis (Jane) Dolin of Caryville, TN, Ira E. (Brenda) Dolin of Dandridge, TN, Charles (Cathy) Dolin of Camp Creek, Jackson (Teresa) Dolin of Nellis, and Ronald (Erika) Dolin of Madison; three daughters, Pat Mace of Danville, Dora (Clarence) Craigo of Griffithsville, and Sallie (Anthony) Starkey of Danville; daughter-in-law, Charlene Dolin of Peytona; special nephew (adopted son) James (Linda) Kessinger of Forest City, NC; a very special nephew, Eugene (Regina) McGuire of Rosamond, CA; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a very good friend, Diann Kish; cousins; nieces; nephews; and a host of friends and loved ones.

A special thank you to her family physician Dr. Howard Lafferty and his nurse Michelle.

The family invites friends to celebrate Delores’ life at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rev. Joe Lane, pastor of Monclo Freewill Baptist Church and Sister Diann Kish, youth minister of Prayer Connection Lighthouse Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church officiating. Singing graciously provided by Nikki and Ronald Egnor.
Burial will follow in Boone Memorial Park, Madison.

Family and friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 1st at the funeral home.
