Delmer "Junebug" Dean Jarrell Jr.

Delmer “Junebug” Dean Jarrell Jr., 65, of Robinson, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 22, 2021 following a short illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmer Dean Jarrell Sr. and Jacqueline Jarrell Compton; and brother, Nova Tony Jarrell. Delmer will forever be kept in the hearts of many. He is survived by his children, Delmer Dean Jarrell III (Irma Gulley) of Cazy, WV, Christopher Michael Jarrell (Heather) of Robinson, WV, and Tabita Ann Jarrell of Huntington, WV; his beautiful grandchildren, Shawna Ramsey (Camron), Alexandra Jarrell, Delmer Jarrell IV (Courtney), Bradley Jarrell, Michael Jarrell, Piper Jarrell, Priscilla Jarrell, MaeLea Kelley, and Nova Jarrell; one step grandchild, Caelyn Lindsay; and one great-grandchild, Kannon Ramsey; brothers, Lacy Compton (Kay), Joe Compton (Brenda), Michael Compton Sr. (Margaret), Rick Compton, Jimmy Jarrell, and Fred Jarrell. Delmer also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Delmer was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA. He loved to spend time with family and friends. This is not a goodbye, but a see you later. Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Michael Compton Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens, Low Gap. Visitation 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, CDC guidelines will be observed, with mask and social distancing encouraged.
