Corby Lee Hammond 79 of Cazy, WV passed away on March 28, 2020 at home after a long illness.
He was preceded in death by his grandson Michael David Hall; his brother James David Hammond; and his parents Fred Hammond and Martha Stuphin.
He was a member of the UMWA for 30 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his family dearly.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Violet; his daughters, Vickie Hall (Gary) of Madison, and Lisa Setliff (Tony) of Cazy; son Jamie Hammond (Chasity) of Cazy; his grandsons, Kevin of Hall of Madison, Travis Setliff of Cazy and Erik of Louisa, KY; his sister Lillie Mae Short of Cocoa Beach, FL; and his sister-in-law Sandra Hammond of Bald Knob, WV. He also leaves several nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at Mid-Ferrell Cemetery, Bandytown, WV with David Cook officiating.
Handley Funeral Home in Danville is assisting the family.
