Bennie Ray Stanley 68 of Branchland, WV embarked on his spiritual journey on Saturday, November 8, 2014.
He was born July 6, 1946 to the late Bennie Richard and Olive Ruth Stanley. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Ray Stanley and two sisters, Charlotte Workman and Shelma Chapman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Glenna Dean Stanley, one son, Kevin Wayne Stanley of Huntington, he is also survived by three stepsons, David Snodgrass of Branchland, Kevin Snodgrass of Randolph County, WV and Justin(LeaAnn) Snodgrass of Ranger, five sisters, Loretta Wetherholt of Huntington, Barbara (Rex) Donahue of Ona, Carol Sue Purevich of Indiana, Donna (Johnny) Midkiff of Branchland, Diane (Denver)Crouse of Branchland, one brother, Garry Gene (Eileen) Stanley of Illinois, one brother in law Jerry Chapman of Midkiff. He had 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was an avid outdoors man with a love of hunting and fishing. He once was noted as saying, “Being in Nature he felt closest to God and felt His presence”. He was a patient, kind man and his memory will forever live on in all those who loved and cared for him

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m.Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014 at McGhee Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV with Pastor Bennie Dean officiating. Burial will follow in Sanders Cemetery, Camp Branch Road, Branchland.
Friends may call from noon until service time on Tuesday.
