Wanda Araminta Eastep Deskins
January 22, 1934 — May 7, 2014
WANDA ARAMINTA EASTEP DESKINS, daughter of Mary Elizabeth Eastep and Dana Holland Eastep, was also raised by paternal grandparents Oliver and Alice Eastep. She was born in Ridgeview WV on January 22, 1934 and went to be with the Lord May 7th 2014 quickly and peacefully.
Wanda was married to Ernest Deskins from 1954 until his passing in 1994.
Wanda’s is survived by siblings: elder brother, Lyle Eastep and younger sisters, Glena Wilson and June Schlicter. Also surviving her are her sons, Barry Deskins and Bret Deskins; and daughter, Tammy Crome (husband Steven Crome); her grandchildren, Bret Jr. Deskins, Christopher Deskins, Amber Richardson and Kashmeir Ranly; as well as eight grandchildren, Justin, Natalie, Joshua, Chris, Ashlynn, Jonny, Rixon, and Reaghan.
Wanda grew up in Ridgeview graduating from Sherman High School in 1951 and attended just about every class reunion through the 50th in 2001. From the age of five Wanda never missed a day of Sunday school in 13 years and only missed two days of school of 12 years to attend her Grandparents funeral.
Wanda’s greatest joy in life was #1- The Lord and #2- Her precious family.
Graveside services will be conducted at the O.A. Eastep Cemetery Eastep Rd. Ridgeview, W.VA on Saturday May 17th 2014 at 1:00 PM where she will be laid to rest next to her mother.
