Vickey L. Kennedy-Kuhn
January 21, 1954 — April 16, 2017
Vickey L. Kennedy-Kuhn, 63, of Culloden passed into her eternal life with the Lord on April 16, 2017, after a beautiful and joyous life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Kennedy and Ethel Gent.
Vickey loved life. She loved Jesus, her family, and friends. There was not a hand she didn’t hold or a heart she didn’t touch. To know her was to love her deeply and honestly. She was an amazing lady that was full of grace. Compassionate. Kind. Courageous. She was passionate about her family especially her daughters. She instilled in them kindness, strength, and an abundancy of love every day of her life. Her daughters and granddaughters were her life and she was theirs. Her sweet presence will live in them forever. Her faith and love for Jesus was obvious to everyone she met. Her smile was radiant and contagious. Her love was pure and unending.
Vickey was born to a hard working coal miner and homemaker in Barrett, WV. Her childhood was humble and filled with love. Her brothers were her protectors and her sisters were her best friends. She graduated from Van High School in 1971. In her early adulthood Vickey was a member of Cazy Freewill Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher and a youth leader for many years alongside her best friend, Debbie Price. Later, she became a member of the First Baptist Church of Hurricane where she developed many friendships. Vickey was a lifelong caregiver to all. She gave her love, her strength, and her devotion to her family and friends.
She is survived by her two daughters, Larissa McCoy of Hurricane and Kayla (William) Collins of Beckley; two granddaughters, Maggie McCoy, Ava Collins and soon to arrive, Audrey Collins; two brothers, Richard Fuller and Kenneth (Emma) Kennedy; two sisters, Judy (Don) Adams and Nancy (Richard) Fosse; and many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 19 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Pastor Tom Price and Kenneth Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Boone Memorial Park, Madison. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Donations may be made in her memory to the Ronald McDonald House in Huntington, WV.
