Ronald Lee Blake

Ronald Lee Blake, 73, of Foster, WV went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 26, 2014 after a long illness.

He was born July 7, 1940 and was a son of the late Edgar Ronald and Leona Faye Bray Blake. He was also preceded in death by brother, Danny Joe Blake; and sisters, Sandra Kay Hager, Faith Ann Blake, Lynda Carol Blake, and Vicky Gay Blake

He served in the U.S. Army as an air defense missle fire control crewman MOS training: Ft. Bliss, TX Unit: Batttery Delta 1st Battalion 67th Air Defense Artillery, USAREUR-Germany

Ronald was a retired coal miner with 46 years, Foreman Fire Boss at Westmoreland Coal and a bus driver for Logan County Schools. He was also a minister for Church of God Organization in Cleveland, TN, served as Pastor at Wharton Church of God, Blair Church of God, and was also a district Pastor for a few years for the Sharples Monclo District.

Ronald enjoyed his family dearly. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Above all he loved God, his church family was dear to his heart.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years of marriage, Marcella; daughter, Teresa Ann Blake Cox of Danville; grandson, Justin (Blake) Cox of Danville; a special little girl who he loved very much, Zae Spry of Harts, WV; sisters, Debbie Reed of Floyd, VA and Jean Mills of Madison; brothers, Ricky R. Blake of Huntington and Jack Blake of Floyd, VA.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2014 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rev. George Garner officiating. Burial will follow in Boone Memorial Park, Madison with military graveside rites performed by Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578, Madison, WV.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
