Oscar "Peewee" Brooks III

Oscar "Peewee" Brooks III, 42, of Branchland, West Virginia passed away July 2, 2017 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maxine Prichard and Oscar Brooks "Jr.", and a sister, Karen Brooks of Branchland, WV.

He is survived by his partner of 17 years, Katrina McDonald and their daughter, Betty Clare Brooks; two brothers, Steven "Louie" Brooks of Wayne, WV and Rodney "Roundman" Brooks of Branchland, WV; several aunts, Martha Messinger of Branchland, WV., Lorraine Roman of Culloden, WV., Delsie Clayton of Concord, CA., Geraldine Pack of Wayne, WV., Mae Dyer of Indianapolis, IN., Peggy Brooks of East Lynn, WV., Freda Brooks of Wayne, WV., and Betty Brooks of Reynoldsburg, OH.; and a large host of cousins and other family members.
He is also survived by Katrina's family, a father and lifelong friend, Dale "Toad" McDonald of Branchland; a mother Corie Mays of Branchland; a grandmother Josie "Sis" Triplett of Branchland; a sister Kimberly Mays of Salt Rock; two brothers William McDonald of Branchland, and Timmy Mays of Salt Rock, WV.; neices and nephews Kassie Cooper, Parker McDonald, Brennen Mays, Jordan Mays, and Shayla Mays; an aunt Kathy Horn of Branchland; cousins Robert (Amber & Lil Man) McDonald of Lucasville, OH and David Horn of Branchland; an aunt Cathy Davis of Branchland; and a host of other family members. Peewee also will be missed & remembered by lots of close friends and neighbors.

A memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 14 at McGhee Handley Funeral Home in West Hamlin, West Virginia with Eddie McComas officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. A private burial will be held at a later date at the Watson cemetery in Branchland, West Virginia.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in honor of Oscar “Peewee” Brooks III at the funeral home.
