Nicholas Eugene James

December 8, 1937 — February 17, 2015

Nicholas Eugene James, 77, of Charleston, WV formerly of Six Mile went home to be with the Lord on February 17, 2015 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jon and Eva James; one brother, Gustin Denia James of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Anna Beasley of Charleston, Katherine James Felty of Six Mile and Sultana James Hager of Powell Creek; one very special sister-in-law; and three very special brothers-in-law.

He is survived by two brothers, Demetrius C. James of Danville and George S. James of Cross Lanes; two special sisters-in-law; four very special nieces he thought of as his daughters and whom he always cherished, Lana James Miller, Jeannie Hager Greene, Cheryl Felty Buckner and Barbara James Breedlove; as well as a host of many, many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Nicholas honored his country by serving in the United States Army serving a term in Vietnam and a term in Austria. He then volunteered for a second tour of duty. Nicholas became disabled after serving his country and for this we honor him. He was a very beloved brother and uncle to all who loved him.

Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rabbi. Jason James Britt officiating and Military Rites performed by Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578 Madison, West Virginia.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in Stollings Cemetery, Six Mile.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
