Maxine Bella, 65, of Danville, WV passed away peacefully from a battle with cancer at home with her family at her bedside on July 31, 2014. Preceding her in death were her parents, Pete and Fonnie Mullins; brothers, Ralph, Pete Jr. and Michael Ray Mullins; and sister, Helen Mullins Crittendon.
Maxine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and registered nurse. She was employed by the Logan County Board of Education before becoming an LPN at age 48 then obtaining her RN, BSN at the age of 58. Maxine worked for Prime Care Medical (WV Regional Jail Authority) for 15 years before retiring in 2013 from MedExpress in South Charleston, WV. She attended Church of God.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, David Bella; daughters, Brandi (Corey) Pritchard and Joni Bella-Craddock; and a son, Jeffrey (Brooke) Bella; six grandchildren, Isabella, Ethan, Derby, Brody, Lillee and Keenlyn. Maxine is also survived by her sister, Kathleen (Brad) Duffield of Chapmanville.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rev./Dr. Larry D. Bailey officiating.
