Kathleen Davidson-Sanders

Kathleen Davidson Sanders, 87, of Midkiff, WV went to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014. Kathleen was the daughter of the late Alfred and Pearl McComas Davidson. She was the wife of Wetzel R. Sanders of Midkiff. Kathleen was preceded in death by one brother, Elba F. Davidson and one sister, Kathryn Davidson Morgan.

Kathleen is also survived by four children, Sheila (Charles) Burns of Hamlin, Sherry (Bill) Handley of Ceredo, Beverly Sanders of Lavalette and Greg (Regina) Sanders of Barboursville; five grandchildren, Kelli Burns, Christopher Burns, Matthew Burns, B.J. Handley and Ashley Sanders. In addition, there are three surviving great grandchildren: Savannah, Georgia and Macon Handley and a host of nieces and nephews.

Kathleen also leaves behind many loving friends and sisters and brothers in Christ at the Branchland United Baptist and Pleasant View United Baptist Churches. She was a member of the Branchland United Baptist Church. Kathleen was a school teacher for Lincoln County Schools and retired from Owens Illinois Glass Factory.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Thursday Feb. 20, 2014 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV with Alan Frye and Earl Ramey officiating. The burial will follow in the Dial Cemetery, Branchland, WV. A viewing will be one hour prior to the funeral Thursday at the funeral home.
