John Carlton Pauley

October 10, 1964 — July 14, 2017

John Carlton Pauley, 52 of Costa, entered eternal rest peacefully on July 14 2017, surrounded by his loved ones, into the loving arms of Jesus. John was a man of God and bravely fought his battle against cancer, but never lost faith of his ultimate Healer. He was born October 10th 1964, the son of the late Roy A. Pauley and Jewell E. Pauley. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by one brother, Roy “Bubby” Pauley and one sister, Marilyn “Tootie” Tagliente.

John was known as a hardworking, prideful man, who loved working in the coal mines and coming home to his family. He loved to spend his free time fishing, watching WVU football, and reading the Bible. John was a great friend to all and never met a stranger.

Those left to cherish his memory include two sons Jerod Ross Pauley and John Tait Pauley; one daughter, Skylar Beth Pauley; two grandchildren, Jayden Rae Pauley and Brylee Marie Pauley; three brothers, Donald “Donnie” Pauley (Debbie Pauley), Stanley Pauley (Sue Pauley), and Andy Pauley (Vicky Pauley); two sisters Janice Hutchison (Cebert Hutchison) and Margaret Braniff; one sister-in-law, Lee Pauley; and a host of family and friends.

John’s wishes are being upheld and his body is being donated to science, and currently at West Virginia University. He hopes that one day there will be a cure for Multiple Myeloma, and his family could not be prouder that even though he is physically not here, he is continuing to help others. The memorial will be held at Peytona Church of Christ at 6:00 pm Thursday, July 20, 2017. Flowers and other arrangements should be sent to Peytona Church of Christ - 140 Shrewsbury Road Peytona, WV 25154.

Arrangements are by Handley Funeral Home, Danville.
