JoAnn Bonds Workman

January 15, 1935 — February 8, 2015

JoAnn Bonds Workman, 80, of Six Mile, passed away after suffering a massive stroke, Sunday, February 8, 2015, at Boone Memorial Hospital surrounded by family.

She was born January 15, 1935 to the late Cecil and Reba Bonds. She grew up at Van and attended Van High School. While working at Madison General Hospital, she met the love of her life, Ralph and they were married April 4, 1953 and were married for 62 years. In her younger days, JoAnn enjoyed going out dancing and family vacations at Myrtle Beach. She was a member of the Six Mile United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, who passed away one week ago. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Ralph Jr.; grandparents, Everett and Dona Brown and Joe and Lucy Bonds; sister,Nellie Cales; niece, Melanie Shirkey; and brothers-in-law, James Green and Kenneth Workman.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa and her husband Roy Estep, and Cathy Jo Workman both of Six Mile; grandchildren, Catherine and her husband Adam Carnefix of Elkview, Joanna Estep and Shelia Harper of Charleston, and Ralph Estep of Six Mile; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Rylann Carnefix of Elkview. She is also survived by a brother, Jerry (Connie) Bonds of Six Mile; sisters-in-law, Dorthea Green, Elyana (Dana) Ferrell, Marion Workman, and Cornelia (Leonard) Bolton all of Six Mile; brother-in-law, Larry (Lois) Workman, also of Six Mile, sister-in-law Linda Workman, of Baltimore, Ohio, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service will be 2 pm Thursday, February 12, at Six Mile United Methodist Church, Six Mile, with the Rev. Roger McCauley officiating. Burial will follow in Workman Family Cemetery, Six Mile.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 11, at the church starting at 6:00 p.m.
