Jimmie Ray Queen

June 28, 1957 — December 3, 2013

Jimmie Ray Queen of Six Mile was called home to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer on Tuesday, December 3, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Ethel Ann Queen; his brother Timmy Queen; his brother in law Junior Bender; his uncle Ancel Bell; his nephew Eddie Bell; and his great niece Amanda Harless.

Jimmie Ray developed a love for horses at a young age when he used to ride ponies up and down Northfork . His love carried over to his adult years as his favorite past time was trail riding with friends and riding the ring showing in horse shows. His second passion was dropping the tailgate and turning the coon hounds loose for a big coon chase. Jimmie loved watching sports of any kind. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan.

Jimmie Ray spent his last days with his sister Diana. He enjoyed the visits from family and friends.
Jimmie Ray leaves behind his sons; Shawn Queen of Chapmanville, Jimmie Ray and Tabitha Queen of VA, and Billy Ray Queen of Yawkey; one sister, Diana Bender of Lick Creek; grandchildren, Anna Marie Queen, Kaylee Queen, Mackenzie Queen and Karley Queen; three nieces, Sandy and D.A. Harless of Lick Creek, Cindy and Timmy Jeffrey of Lake, and Jennie and Shannon Webb of Danville; one nephew, Shane and Nikita Queen of Little Horse Creek; one sister in law, Jonetta Queen of Northfork; a special aunt, Judy Bell; aunts, Nellie Teagarden, Lois Pritchard, Mary Christian, and Jean Queen; uncles, Jerry Queen and Clovis Pritchard; a host of cousins that include: Junior and Michael Bell, two great nieces; Alli Harless and Mackenna Queen, and three great nephews; Logan Webb, Hunter Jeffrey, and Brayden Queen. He had two very special people in his life that were his closest and dearest friends Richard and Ellen Maynard.
Jim also leaves behind many more family members and a host of friends.

His memory will be carried on in the hearts of family and friends. He will be greatly missed by so many.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV. Burial will follow in Hill Cemetery, Northfork, Big Creek.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
