Jacqueline Halstead, 85, of Racine was born August 1, 1929 and passed away June 3, 2015 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.
She was preceded in death by her husband whom she married April 1, 1944, Bittle Halstead; two daughters, Pearly Mae and Cynthia; her mother, Pearl Tackett; grandparents, Homer Kenny and Pearl Atkins; and brother, Gene Atkins.
She is survived by sons, LeeRoy of Racine, Leon of Peytona, Larry of Charleston and Glen of Peytona; daughters, Sandra Gail Gillenwater of Wirt County, Ellen Sue McComas of Mud River, Debbie Lynn Workman of Racine, Linda Lou Halstead of Racine, Wendy Cline of Racine and Penny White of Racine; brother, Charles “Taulby” Atkins of Columbus, Ohio; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dog, Shorty.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2015 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Roger Halstead officiating. Burial will follow in Harless Cemetery, Drawdy.
Visitation will begin at noon until service time with the family at 11:30.
