Jack Wesley Richmond, 86, of Jeffrey passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Boone Memorial Hospital, Madison.
He was born September 6, 1927 at Garrett, Kentucky and was a son of the late Earl and Bessie Kerr Richmond. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gleadith “Giddy” Richmond.
He was a retired coal miner of 38 years with Amherst Coal. He was a WWII Army veteran.
He is survived by his son, Robert “Bob” Earl (Sherri Lynn) Richmond of Jeffrey; three brothers, Kenneth, Daniel “Buddy” and Denny “Duke”; three sisters, Dottie Minzler, Lea Roberts and Dorothy Kratzer; two grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Blair (Kelly) and Chrissy Dawn Richmond; and three great-grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Blair, Andrew Wyatt Blair and Aidan Robert Blair.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Pastor Donald Kerns officiating. Burial will follow in Family Gardens, Madison.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
