Harlin Gene Barker, 77, of Danville, WV passed away June 2, 2014 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, WV after a short illness.
He was retired from the WV Department of Highways in which he served for 27 years. Harlin was a lover of nature and animals. He loved children and they loved him. He attended Prayer Connection Lighthouse in Danville.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie White Barker; daughters, Kathy and Tammy Barker Halstead both of Danville; three grandchildren, Heather (Mark) Hutchinson, of Pittsburg, PA, Bobby Adkins of Danville and Samantha Jo Adkins of Danville; four great-grandchildren, Matthew Adkins, Cambria Hutchinson and Ronin and Leelynd Sheets; and a host of family and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2014 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Pastor Mark Meeker officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Danville.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
