Gladys Doreen Tawney

Gladys Doreen Tawney 76 of Danville, WV went to be with the Lord August 14, 2014 after a short battle with cancer at Boone Memorial Hospital.
Doreen was born at Julian, WV the daughter of the late Frank and Pearl Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband Ewell Tawney, three brothers Kenneth, Cecil and Ray Thompson, and a sister Loretta Oney and a half sister Betty Dunlap.
She is survived by her son Kennith (Teresa) Tawney of Madison, granddaughters; Jennifer (Travis) Harvey of Madison, Tabitha (Michael)Woodrum of Camp Creek, great grandchildren who she loved so very much, Riley Jo, Harleigh, Tucker and Bentlee Harvey and Hunter and Liam Woodrum, two brothers; Jerry Thompson of Foster and Frankie Thompson of Julian, several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Nothing pleased Mom more than serving her family, and she gave us her all with no regrets. She was a member of the Danville Church of Christ.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 Handley Funeral Home, Danville WV with Kenneth Mitchell and Richard Runyon officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Danville.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to St .Jude Childrens Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in her honor.
