Freda Gaye Elswick, 78, of Julian was born March 16, 1937 and passed away April 30, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ward and Audrey Atkins Harless; husband Robert Eugene Elswick; brother, Bobby Harless; and sister, Lucille Cantley.
She was the owner and operator of Freda’s at Madison.
She is survived by daughters, Patricia “Trish” Holmes of Huntersville, NC and Elwanda Johnson (Wayne) of Julian; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Cornell Clark and Yvonne Hill both of Parkersburg; and Bennie Harless of Peytona.
Special thanks to East Brook Skilled Nursing Center, Hospice West and Thomas Memorial Hospital and a special thanks to her close friends.
Service will be 7 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Scotty Napier and Johnny Vickers officiating. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until service time.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2015 at Memory Gardens, Madison.
