Elwood Ferrell

Elwood Ferrell 85 of Van, WV went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 after a long illness.
He was a retired UMWA coal miner of 44 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Elbert and Lillian Ferrell, brother, Lawrence Ferrell and sister, Charlotte Whitman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years CoraLee Peters Ferrell, sons; Rodney (Debbie) Ferrell of Van, and Timmy (Renee) Ferrell of Van, daughter; Teresa (Ronnie) Sands of Rock Creek Boone County, granddaughters, Melanie Ferrell of Van and Melinda (Chris) Cook of Van, great granddaughters Haleigh Cook and Katelynn Cook of Van, brothers; Elbert Ferrell Jr. of Nitro, Charles Ferrell of Ohio, and lots of friends.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Minister Richard Runyon officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
