Denzil Gaye Miller

June 2, 1942 — July 25, 2014

Denzil Gaye Miller, 72, of West Hamlin was born June 2, 1942 and went to Heaven on July 25, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Albert “Shorty” and Myrtle Cooper Miller; brothers, Walter Clay and Billy Joe; sisters, Pauline Ruth McCallister, Joyce Irene Spears, Carol Sue Caldwell; and grandson, David James Miller.

He was retired from Lincoln County Board of Education.

Denzil is survived by his wife, Linda Meadows Miller; children, Belinda Ackerson (Curtis Jackson) of South Pt. Ohio; Denzil “Buddy” Miller II (Teresa) of West Hamlin, Kelly and (Jesse) Miller of Sweetland, Dawn (Mark) Meadows of West Hamlin and Amanda (Mike) Dillon of Lesage, WV; grandchildren, Sara Vickers, Mark Colley, Jessica (Kevin) Davis, Joshua (Shelly) Miller, Emily Miller, Allison “Baby Shorty” Miller, Brancie Meadows, Avery Meadows and Kinsleigh Smith; sisters, Marie Groves of Cleveland, Faye (Jim) Hendricks of Ashland, Ohio, Doris Filyaw, Linda Ingham and Debbie (Charlie) Cadle all of Sweetland; brother, E.J. (Danette) Miller of Carlisle, PA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Erneste and Ann Meadows of Charleston, SC, Art and Carolyn Meadows of Fairmont, Charlene Evans of Barboursville, Mitzi and Jim Vance of Lavalette, WV and Dexter and Becky Porter of West Hamlin; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014 at Handley Funeral Home, Hamlin with Jim Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in Green Valley Cemetery at Long Branch, West Hamlin.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
