Delsie Stone, 89, of Madison went home to be with the Lord April 23, 2015 at Boone Memorial Hospital, Madison.
She was born December 16, 1925 at Stickney, WV and was a daughter of the late Frank and Victoria Sayers Payne. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Stone.
She was a homemaker and a member of Monclo Freewill Baptist Church, Monclo.
She is survived by two daughters, Patty Jeffrey of Madison and Charlotte Stone Harris of Tellico Plains, Tennessee; four sons, Nathan Stone of Florida, Lonnie Stone of Alabama, Hayward Payne of Danville and Danny Stone of Florida; three brothers, Harold Payne of Cabin Creek, Delmer Payne of NY and Robert Payne of SC; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2 pm Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rev. Joe Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
