Dale Edwin Midkiff

Dale Edwin Midkiff, 77, of Ranger, WV, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted by Minister Cecil Mullins at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home at West Hamlin, WV, at 2 pm Sunday, November 1st. Burial will follow at Sanders Cemetery at Ranger, WV.
Dale was born April 30, 1938 at Ranger, WV, a son of Ellis Midkiff and Mae Wiley Midkiff. He was preceded in death by his parents and Stepfather, Wetzel Smith. Also preceding him in death were brothers Thomas Midkiff and Bobby Ray Smith.
Survivors include sisters Estelle Maynard of South Point, OH; Fern Manns of Suffolk, VA; Bonnie Damron, Betty Jo Tarbet (Donald) of Richmond, VA; Gloria Bell (David) of Hamlin, WV; two brothers, Stanley Midkiff of Fife Lake, MI and Cliff Alan Smith (Chryl) of Ranger, WV. Cliff was his caregiver for many years.
He left behind several nieces and nephews that he always loved to teach new things when they came to visit. Dale worked in the timber business with his stepfather and later in Smith’s Grocery at Ranger.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home for visitation from noon until 2 pm on Sunday.
