Belinda Rae "Grammy" Cooper

Belinda Rae Cooper “Grammy”, 66, of West Hamlin died December 18, 2017 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital. She was born to the late John and Glenna Cartwright on January 27, 1951. She was a 1968 graduate of Guyan Valley High School.

Belinda is survived by her spouse of 48 years, Elbert Cooper; three daughters, Stephanie (Greg) Christian, Jonnie (Donald) Beckett, Amy (Jamie) Stratton; 11 grandkids, 12 great grandkids, a special niece Tammy Eplion, 3 sisters and one brother. She was preceded in death by one grandson and two brothers.

Grammy got so much joy from all the children who grew up on McClellan Street. Her house was always the hang out spot. From Halloween parties to Christmas parties she never excluded any child. Grammy treated everyone like they were her grandkids even if they were just neighbors, they were always family.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday December 22, 2017 at Handley Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV. The burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery, Branchland, WV. A visitation will be Thursday December 21, 2017 from 6pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
