Barbara Jean Petry

Barbara Jean Petry of Madison, WV was called home by her Heavenly Father on Monday, August 10, 2015.
Barbara was the tenth child of Edward and Violet Smathers’ 21 children. She grew up in Ohio where she met her soul mate and love of her life, Thomas Lee Petry. Barbara and Tom shared 44 years filled with happiness and love; three loving daughters, Crystal Smith (Marshall Green) of Madison, Angela Petry (Steve Wolfe) of Madison and Regina Castle (Tony Ray) of Bob White; and three precious grandchildren, Carrena and Ethan Acord of Bob White and Haleigh Petry of Madison.
Barbara and Tom accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior during a tent revival in 1978 and have served the Lord side by side since. The Petry’s attend services at the Fountain of Life Worship Center in Foster, WV. The couple shared a passion for serving others and enjoyed supporting the activities of the church. Barbara will be remembered for her unwavering faith in God, immeasurable love for her family and compassion for all she met.
The Petrys wish to thank you for your love and prayers. Hospice Care staff, thank you for your assistance in this difficult time. Special thanks to Barbara’s sister, Deborah Beaty (Daniel) of Manistee, Michigan.
Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Fountain of Life Worship Center located at 301 Daniel Boone Parkway, Foster, WV with Pastor Ronnie Luke and John Workman officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
