Arnett R. "Dick" Halstead
October 25, 1938 — July 31, 2015
Arnett Richard “Dick” Halstead 76 of Leon, WV formerly of Foster, passed away on July 31, 2015 at home.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; Malcolm and Lennie Cabell Halstead, one brother; Marion Lee Halstead and one sister; Judy Halstead Crouch.
Dick was a member of the Church of Christ. He was also a member of the UMWA Construction Workers and the UMWA Underground Workers. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy Seabees.
Dick is survived by his wife; Mary Lou Keffer Halstead, one son; Rex Allen Halstead of LeTart, WV and one grandson; Luke Halstead of LeTart, WV. He is also survived by three brothers; Malcom, Jr. and Babe Allen of Foster, and Rex Douglas of Lexington, KY, he has five surviving sisters; Gloria of Kenova, WV, Deloris of Tucson, AZ, Nancy of London, KY, Connie of North Lawrence OH, and Karen of Foster, WV. He was blessed with seventeen nieces and nine nephews.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2015 Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Jeff Circle and Wendell Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Danville,WV.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
